Massage Therapy for MS Patients

Massage is the manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to enhance function, aid in the healing process, and promote relaxation and well-being. Massage is the most common of all bodywork therapies. It is used to relax muscles, reduce stress and relieve conditions exacerbated by muscle tension. There are many forms of massage, such as traditional, Shiatsu, myofascial release, and deep tissue. Many of these forms of massage have been found to benefit MS sufferers by temporarily relieving symptoms and reducing stress.
